Banana Split

A classic dessert featuring fresh bananas, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream, and cocktail cherries. Try this and other recipes from Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 4 bananas
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 150 ml heavy cream (at least 30% fat)
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 100 g dark chocolate couverture
  • 12 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 12 cocktail cherries

Instructions

    Peel the bananas, slice them lengthwise, and drizzle with lemon juice. Whip the cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form, then fill a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Roughly chop the chocolate and melt it over a hot water bath.

    Place one sliced banana in each of two long dessert bowls. Add three scoops of vanilla ice cream to the center of each bowl, then pipe a dollop of whipped cream on top. Drizzle the melted chocolate sauce over everything and garnish with cocktail cherries before serving.
