Banana Orange Smoothie
The Bananen-Orangen-Smoothie from Spoonsparrow: The protein shake is perfect for fueling up before exercise – and in a healthy way.
Ingredients
- 2 small bananas (100 g each)
- 2 organic oranges
- 2 tsp mild honey
- 2 tbsp almond flour (partly sifted; 15 g)
- 150 g skyr
- 250 ml coconut milk (9% fat)

On the day before, peel the bananas for the Banana Orange Smoothie, slice them and freeze for at least 12 hours. The next day take the frozen bananas out of the freezer and let them thaw briefly.

Meanwhile, peel one orange hot, dry rub it and grate half of its zest finely. Halve the orange, cut off 3–4 wedges from the middle for garnish, squeeze juice from the rest. Squeeze the second orange as well.

Blend the thawed banana slices in a stand mixer with orange juice and zest, honey, almond flour, Skyr and half the coconut milk until smooth. Quickly fold in the remaining coconut milk. Divide the Banana Orange Smoothie into two glasses and garnish with orange wedges and a straw. Enjoy the protein shake cold.
