Ingredients

  • 150 g softened butter
  • 160 g raw cane sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 pinches cinnamon
  • 2 Eggs
  • 300 g flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 100 g chopped walnuts
  • 70 ml milk
  • butter

Instructions

    Preheat oven to 180°C (fan 160°C; gas: level 2-3). Beat butter, sugar, salt and cinnamon with a hand mixer for about three minutes until fluffy. Gradually add the eggs and mix thoroughly until the batter is smooth. Sift flour and baking powder together and fold into the mixture.

    Peel bananas, mash them with a fork, and stir in the walnuts before adding to the batter. Slowly incorporate milk until the dough drops off the spoon lightly.

    Grease a loaf pan if needed. Pour the batter into the pan, level the surface, and bake in the preheated oven for 45–55 minutes.

    Carefully remove the banana bread from the oven onto a cooling rack and let it cool slightly. It tastes best served warm.
