Ingredients
- 250 g sugar syrup
- 100 g Raw sugar
- 250 ml milk
- 350 g rye flour (Type 1150)
- 1 packet baking powder
- to taste cloves (and cardamom)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tbsp crumb candy

Warm the syrup, sugar and milk together in a pot over medium heat (but do not boil) until everything is dissolved.

Let the mixture cool slightly. Mix the flour with the baking powder and spices, add to the syrup mixture and knead into a dough using the hand mixer’s dough hooks. Pour the dough into a greased, lightly floured loaf pan (25x11 cm), smooth the top and sprinkle with crumb candy.

Bake the cake in a preheated oven (electric: 150°C, gas: level 2) for 55 minutes. Let the cake cool slightly in the pan, then transfer it to a wire rack.
