Baked sheep cheese balls are a recipe with fresh ingredients from the cheese category.
Ingredients
- 120 g yogurt
- 80 ml oil
- 2 egg whites
- 1 packet baking powder
- Salt
- 350 g flour
- 200 g sheep cheese
- 4 tbsp milk
- 2 egg yolks (for brushing)
- 50 g black cumin seeds
- flour (for work surface)
Instructions

Stir yogurt and oil, add egg whites and a pinch of salt. Then mix flour with baking powder, add to the yogurt‑oil‑egg mixture and stir until combined; dough should not be too stiff and should form easily (add more oil or yogurt if needed).

Crush sheep cheese and knead with a little milk into a pliable filling.

On a floured work surface shape dough into balls about 5 cm in diameter, flatten slightly. Place some cheese filling on each, wrap with dough, reshape into balls again. Arrange on parchment‑lined baking sheet. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle black cumin seeds.

Bake in preheated oven at 180 °C fan for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
