Ingredients
- 1 ball mozzarella (125 g)
- 8 slices toast bread
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- 2 tsp fresh chopped oregano
- 3 eggs
- 5 tbsp milk
- Nutmeg (freshly grated)
- flour (for dusting)
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- fresh oregano (for garnish)
Instructions

Drain the mozzarella and slice it. Toast the bread lightly, top half of each slice with mozzarella, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle fresh chopped oregano. Place another slice on top and press down. Whisk eggs with milk and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Dust sandwiches with flour, dip in egg mixture, let sit 1-2 minutes, then fry in a hot pan with olive oil until golden brown on both sides. Drain on paper towels, cut diagonally, arrange on plates, and garnish with fresh oregano.
