Ingredients

  • 100 g Dried Apricots
  • 1 untreated orange
  • 75 g marzipan dough
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 4 tbsp raisins
  • 50 g ground hazelnuts
  • 4 Boskop apples
  • 3 Tbsp liquid butter
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Soak the apricots in lukewarm water for about 20 minutes.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. Wash the orange hot and dry it, then zest half of its peel finely. Juice the orange. Drain the apricots and dice them finely. Crush the marzipan and mix with rum and orange juice until creamy. Stir in the apricot cubes, raisins, and nuts.

  3. 3.

Wash the apples and cut off a lid on the stem side. Using an apple corer remove the core without piercing through completely. Hollow out the openings. Fill the apples with the mixture and replace the lids. Grease a baking dish with some liquid butter. Place the filled apples in the dish, drizzle with remaining butter, and bake for about 40 minutes.

  4. 4.

Remove from oven, let cool briefly, dust with powdered sugar, and serve. Pair with vanilla ice cream.
