Ash Cake with Chocolate

Spoonsparrow ash cake with chocolate tastes like the original recipe from grandma!
Ingredients
- 200 g butter
- 150 g raw cane sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 4 eggs
- 130 ml milk (3.5% fat)
- 400 g wheat flour type 1050
- 100 g starch
- 1 packet baking powder
- 200 g dark chocolate
Instructions

In a bowl beat the butter until fluffy. Gradually fold in the sugar and add the salt.

Separate the eggs. Slowly stir in the yolks with the milk. Mix the flour, starch and baking powder, sift, and gradually whisk into the batter.

Chop the chocolate, whip the egg whites to stiff peaks, and fold both into the batter.

If needed, grease a loaf pan. Pour the batter in and smooth the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan; gas: level 3) for about an hour.

Remove, let cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
