Apple Quark
Try the delicious Apple Quark from Spoonsparrow or one of our other healthy desserts!
Ingredients
- 0.5 Organic lemon
- 3 apples
- 1 tbsp coconut palm sugar
- 60 g chopped nuts (e.g., walnuts or hazelnuts)
- 400 g low‑fat quark
- 50 g cream cheese
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 sprigs Mint
Instructions

Wash half a lemon hot, pat dry, grate the zest and squeeze out the juice. Peel the apples, quarter them, remove cores and dice the flesh.

Add 1 tsp lemon zest, 2 tbsp lemon juice, apple cubes and coconut palm sugar to a pot and bring to a boil. Then simmer for about 10 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples begin to break down; add water if needed. Remove from heat and let cool.

Meanwhile, toast the nuts in a dry pan until fragrant, then set aside.

Whisk the quark with cream cheese and honey. Layer alternately with the cooled apple compote and toasted nuts into four glasses.

Wash mint leaves, pat dry, strip them into thin ribbons and garnish the apple quark with the mint.
