Apple Mulled Wine

Ingredients

  • 40 ml brandy
  • 2 bottles robust red wine
  • 100 g candied sugar
  • 80 g rum cherries
  • 10 cloves
  • 4 star anise pieces
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 apple

Instructions

    Pour brandy with wine into a pot, add sugar, rum cherries and spices.

    Slice the lemon into thin wedges, quarter the apple, remove seeds and slice into thin wedges; add both to the red wine in the pot. Warm slowly, never boil, let it steep for a few minutes.
