Apple in Puff Pastry

Irresistibly tasty and especially a treat during the pre‑Christmas season: Try the apple wrapped in puff pastry by Spoonsparrow!

Ingredients

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry
  • 1 Boskop apple
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 1 tbsp rum

Instructions

    Let the puff pastry thaw.

    Soak the raisins in rum.

  3. 3.

    Wash the apple, core it and fill with the raisins.

  4. 4.

    Layer the puff pastry sheets, roll into a rectangle, cut a strip for decoration, wrap the apple in the pastry, brush with beaten egg yolk, seal the edges, and decorate with the remaining pastry.

    Place the wrapped apple on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170 °C for about 15–20 minutes until golden brown.
