- 5 sour apples (e.g., Boskop)
- 0.5 tsp ground cinnamon
- 6 tbsp brown sugar
- 150 g stale bread (e.g., white, spelt)
- 70 g liquid butter
Instructions
-
1.
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) with upper and lower heat. Grease a casserole dish with butter.

2.
Peel an orange all around with a sharp knife and dice the flesh into small cubes. Squeeze juice from the second orange together with the lemon. Wash and peel the apples. Grate one apple finely and mix it with the juice and orange cubes. Roughly cube the remaining apples and add them to the mixture. Stir in cinnamon and 4 tbsp sugar, then pour into the baking dish.

3.
Tear the bread into small pieces and roughly half of them into a food processor to make crumbs. Mix the bread bits, crumbs, remaining sugar, and butter loosely together and scatter over the apples. Bake in the oven for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.
