Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 cube yeast (42 g)
- 50 g sugar
- 200 ml lukewarm milk
- 1 egg
- 100 g Soft Butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tbsp milk
- butter (for the baking tray)
- flour (for the work surface)
- organic rose petals
- colored eggs
Instructions
-
1.
Stir the yeast into the milk with 1 tsp sugar until smooth, then combine with the remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl and knead with hand mixer attachments until the dough lifts from the bowl edges and is smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm place (oven at 50°C).
-
2.
Knead the dough well on a floured surface, shape into a log, cut into seven equal pieces, roll each into a 20 cm long rope and coil into a pretzel shape.
-
3.
Grease a baking sheet. Brush a small metal ring (~10 cm) with oil, place it in the center of the tray, and arrange the dough coils around the ring.
-
4.
Whisk egg yolk with milk and brush over the ring. Bake the Easter wreath in a preheated oven (center rack, 180°C) for about 30 minutes. Remove, let cool, take out the ring, place the wreath on a plate, add colored eggs to the center, and sprinkle rose petals.
