Ingredients
- 1 cube fresh yeast (42 g)
- 150 ml lukewarm milk
- 500 g flour
- 50 g sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 Eggs
- 50 g softened butter
- Zest of 1 lemon (50 g finely chopped)
- Zest of 1 orange (50 g finely chopped)
- 1 egg yolk (for brushing)
- Glitter sugar
Instructions

Whisk the yeast into the milk and stir in 1 tsp sugar. Add flour, remaining sugar, salt, eggs, and butter pieces to a mixing bowl; pour in the yeast mixture and knead with an electric hand mixer’s dough hooks until smooth. Place dough in a bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled.

On a floured surface, knead the dough again, divide it into two, roll each into thin ropes, twist together into a cord. Shape into hearts on parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with beaten egg yolk, sprinkle glitter sugar. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C (mid rack) for about 35–40 minutes.
