Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 400 g mixed ground meat
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 4 tbsp plant oil
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread
  • 4 slices cheese (e.g., cheddar)
  • 0.5 eggplant
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 handful young spinach
  • 1 Spring onion
  • 8 tbsp sour cream
  • 4 tbsp ketchup

Instructions

  1. 1.

Peel the garlic and press it into the ground meat. Season with salt and pepper, then shape into 4 patties. In a hot pan, cook each side for 3‑4 minutes in 2 tbsp oil until golden brown.

  2. 2.

Preheat the oven to grill mode.

  3. 3.

Toast the bread slices under the hot grill on both sides until golden brown. Top the patties with cheese and place them under the grill until the cheese is lightly browned.

  4. 4.

Slice the eggplant into very thin rounds and fry in the remaining oil in a hot pan for about 2 minutes until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. 5.

Wash the tomato, cut off the stem end, and slice it. Rinse the spinach, clean it, and dry it thoroughly. Wash the spring onion, clean it, and slice into thin rings.

  6. 6.

Spread half of the sour cream on 4 bread slices and arrange the burgers with spinach, eggplant, and tomato slices on top. Drizzle ketchup and the remaining sour cream over them, sprinkle with spring onions, and finish each sandwich with another bread slice.
