Walnut Tart
Crispy base with nutty aroma – the Walnut Tart by Spoonsparrow is a fall classic that enchants every coffee table.
Ingredients
- 150 g spelt flour
- 80 g sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 pinch salt
- 100 g cold butter
- 1 egg
- 50 g whipping cream
- 0.25 tsp cinnamon
- 200 g walnuts

Knead spelt flour with 30 g sugar, egg yolk, salt and 80 g finely chopped butter into a dough. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in cling film and chill for 2 hours.

If needed, grease the tart pan and lightly dust it with flour. Roll out the dough and line the pan. Prick the base several times with a fork. Blind bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for about 15 minutes.

Whisk the remaining sugar with the egg and cream. Melt the remaining butter and stir it into the egg mixture along with cinnamon and walnuts.

Spread the filling over the base and bake for about 35 more minutes until set. Let the walnut tart cool in the pan before serving.
