Ingredients
- 250 g walnut kernels
- 125 g cane sugar
- 500 ml peanut oil
- 3 tbsp sesame seeds

Bring about 1 l of water to a boil in a saucepan, add the walnut kernels and simmer for about 5 minutes. Drain and let them dry. Pat the warm walnuts dry with paper towels and spread on a baking sheet.

Now sprinkle the walnuts with sugar and mix thoroughly so that all nuts are well coated with sugar. Let them dry overnight in a warm place.

To finish, heat the oil in a wok over medium heat and fry the walnuts in batches for about 2 minutes until the sugar melts and the walnuts brown, then remove, drain on a rack and sprinkle with sesame. Serve warm or cold. When sealed properly, the nuts keep for about 2 weeks.
