Waldorf Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breast fillets (about 140 g)
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 tbsp plant oil
  • 2 tart apples
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 50 g walnut kernels
  • 100 g mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Sour cream
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

    Rinse the chicken, pat dry and season with salt and pepper. In a hot pan, brown both sides in oil for 2-3 minutes, then cook on low heat for another 4-5 minutes until done. Let it cool to lukewarm.

    Wash the apples, core them and cut into bite-sized pieces. Wash and trim the celery, slice into rounds. Chop the walnuts.

    Whisk mayonnaise with sour cream, 1–2 tbsp water and lemon juice; season with salt and pepper.

    Slice the chicken and combine with apple, celery and nuts in glasses. Pour the salad dressing over and serve.
