Turkish Meatball Skillet

Ingredients
- 1 old-fashioned roll
- 1 onion
- 1 Garlic clove
- olive oil
- 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 600 g ground beef
- 1 tsp tomato paste
- 1 egg
- a pinch ground cumin
- a pinch cinnamon powder
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 400 g waxy potatoes
- 4 Spring Onions
- 2 yellow bell peppers
- 4 tomatoes
- 200 ml dry white wine
- 1 tsp fresh thyme

Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).

Soak the roll in lukewarm water.

Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic; sauté them in a hot pan with 1 tbsp oil until translucent. Stir in the parsley, remove from heat, and let cool. Mix the ground beef with tomato paste, egg, the drained bread crumbs, the onion mixture, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper.

Peel, wash, and slice the potatoes thinly. Wash and trim the spring onions, cutting them into 2 cm diagonal pieces. Wash, deseed, and slice the bell peppers into narrow rings. Boil the tomatoes, shock in cold water, peel, quarter, seed, and dice finely.

Sauté the spring onions and pepper rings in a hot pan with 1 tbsp oil; add the tomatoes, pour in the wine, season with salt and pepper, stir in thyme, and simmer for about 5 minutes over medium heat.

Arrange the potato slices in a greased baking dish. Form small oval meatballs from the mixture and place them on top of the potatoes. Pour the sauce over everything. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes. Remove and serve immediately.
