Ingredients

  • 800 g veal mince
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 400 g sheep cheese
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • breadcrumbs (for rolling)
  • frying oil
  • lemon juice (to drizzle)
  • lettuce (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Grate the sheep cheese coarsely and mix with lemon zest and olive oil. Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves.

  2. 2.

Roughly mix the veal mince with garlic, salt, and pepper, then roll into a long log. Cut the log into 36-40 pieces. Flatten each piece in damp hands, place a teaspoon of the cheese mixture in the center, press slightly with fingers to seal the meat around the cheese. Shape all balls as described, then firmly coat them in breadcrumbs.

  3. 3.

Fry the balls in hot oil for 2–4 minutes until golden yellow, drain on paper towels, and serve on plates garnished with lettuce and a drizzle of lemon juice.
