Ingredients

  • 600 g tuna (canned, in own juice)
  • 400 g fresh spinach
  • 1 Shallot
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • Salt
  • nutmeg
  • 400 ml whipping cream (at least 30% fat content)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • pepper (ground)
  • 100 g grated cheese (e.g., aged cheddar, Parmesan)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat. Drain the tuna well. Wash, trim, remove tough stems from the spinach and drain. Peel and finely chop the shallot and garlic clove.

    Sauté in hot butter, add the spinach and cook until the liquid has evaporated. Season with salt and nutmeg. Mix in the flaked tuna and transfer to four individual baking dishes.

    Whisk together the cream, eggs, and crème fraîche; season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour over the tuna-spinach mixture. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes until golden brown.
