Tortilla Rolls

Ingredients

  • 200 g Turkey breast fillet
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 2 pickled jalapeños (spicy!)
  • 2 tortillas (ready-made)
  • 5 tbsp grated cheese
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 0.5 red bell pepper
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  • 200 g tomato ketchup
  • salt (black pepper)
  • cayenne pepper (to taste)
  • 1 l oil
  • 16 toothpicks

Instructions

    Cut the turkey meat into 16 thin strips. Season with salt and pepper. Slice the jalapeño peppers into rings.

    Cut each tortilla into eight equal segments. Place a turkey strip and one or two jalapeño rings on each dough triangle, sprinkle with some cheese, roll up, and secure with a toothpick.

    For the chili sauce, wash and deseed the red chili pepper and bell pepper. Finely chop the chili pepper and dice the bell pepper.

    Mix coriander with tomato ketchup, chili and bell pepper cubes, season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Divide the sauce into four bowls.

    Heat the oil in a deep fryer or pot to about 160°C. Fry the rolls portion by portion for 3–4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper and serve immediately with the chili sauce.
