Tomato Salad with Tuna Steaks and Vanilla Dressing

Ingredients
- 4 beefsteak tomatoes
- 1 Red Onion
- 2 handfuls of mixed leaf lettuce
- 2 Vanilla Beans
- 1 untreated lime
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 8 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp white balsamic vinegar
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 4 fresh tuna steaks (about 160 g each)

Wash the tomatoes and cut them into thick slices. Peel the onion, halve it, and slice it into thin strips. Wash the lettuce and gently shake off excess water.

Split the vanilla beans lengthwise and scrape out the seeds. Rinse the lime under hot water, dry it, zest the peel, and squeeze out the juice. Combine juice, zest, sugar, and vanilla seeds in a pot and let them simmer slightly. Add 6 tbsp olive oil and the vinegar, then season with salt and pepper.

Wash the tuna, pat it dry, and sear each side for 1-2 minutes in a hot grill pan using the remaining olive oil. The center should remain rare. Season with salt and pepper.
