Ingredients
- 200 ml espresso
- 40 ml cognac
- 4 egg yolks
- 80 g sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- 600 g mascarpone
- 150 g ladyfingers
- cocoa powder (for dusting)
- chocolate sauce

Mix espresso with cognac. Whisk egg yolks and sugar until fluffy, split the vanilla pod, scrape the seeds into the cream. Stir in mascarpone by spoonfuls.

Line a large rectangular pan with some mascarpone cream, lay 1/3 of the ladyfingers on top and soak them with 1/3 of the espresso mixture. Spread 1/3 of the mascarpone cream over that layer and add two more layers in the same way, finishing with a thin coat of cream. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Before serving dust generously with cocoa and drizzle chocolate sauce.
