Tandoori Chicken with Sauce

- 1 pre-cooked chicken (about 1.2 kg)
- pepper (ground)
- Salt
- 1 lemon
- 2 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 350 g yogurt
- 2 tsp tandoori spice mix
- 1 tsp paprika powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- nutmeg
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Pepper
- 1 pinch chili powder
- 0.5 tsp turmeric powder

Wash the chicken, pat dry and cut into 6-8 pieces. Score the surface of each piece about 0.5 cm deep and place in a shallow dish. Sprinkle with pepper and salt and drizzle with lemon juice. Let rest for about 30 minutes. Place ginger in a small bowl. Press garlic cloves through a press and add to the bowl. Whisk yogurt with all spices to make the marinade. Generously brush each chicken piece with the mixture and cover the dish with foil. Marinate the poultry overnight in the refrigerator.

Preheat oven to 180°C fan. Line a baking tray with foil and place the chicken pieces on top. Bake for 35-40 minutes, brushing with more marinade intermittently.
