Ingredients

  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tsp cumin (ground)
  • 1 tsp coriander (ground)
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander (ground)
  • black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (unprocessed)
  • 100 g yogurt
  • 1 handful fresh chopped cilantro leaves
  • 4 chicken breast fillets (about 140 g each)
  • Salt
  • 1 Mango
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 0.5 lemon (juice)
  • 1 pinch brown sugar
  • fresh chopped cilantro leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

    For the marination, peel and finely chop the garlic. Mix with the spices, ginger, lemon zest, yogurt, and half of the cilantro leaves. Rinse the chicken, pat dry, and coat with the mixture. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

    Remove from the marinade, place on a grill (preferably indirect heat), season, and cook under a closed lid for about 20 minutes. Turn occasionally and brush with the remaining marination.

    For the relish, peel the mango, remove the flesh from the pit, and dice into small cubes. Peel and finely dice the onion. Wash, halve, deseed, and finely chop the chili pepper. Mix with the remaining cilantro leaves and season with lemon juice, salt, pepper, and sugar.

    Remove the chicken from the grill and arrange on a large platter with the relish. Sprinkle with cilantro leaves before serving.
