Ingredients

  • 500 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • butter fat (for frying)

Instructions

    Mix all ingredients together and knead into a dough. Let rest for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into diamond shapes with a pastry cutter.

    Heat the fat in a deep fryer to about 180 °C and fry the dough pieces until golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper, dust with powdered sugar, and serve warm.
