Ingredients

  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 150 g Low-Fat Quark
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 50 g sunflower seeds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • flour (for working)
  • fat (for the pan)
  • 1 egg yolk

Instructions

  1. 1.

Sift the flour with the baking powder into a bowl. Then add the quark, milk, egg, oil, seeds (except 2 tbsp), and salt. Mix everything into a smooth dough with an electric hand mixer (kneading attachment). Shape the dough on a floured work surface into a long strand, roll it spirally, and place it in a greased loaf pan (~24 cm diameter).

  2. 2.

Whisk the egg yolk with 1 tbsp water until smooth and brush the spiral. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tbsp sunflower seeds and bake in a preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Cool on a wire rack and best enjoyed fresh.
