Ingredients

  • 250 g fresh strawberries
  • 1 l good fruit vinegar
  • 100 g strawberries (for finished vinegar garnish)
  • 2 sprigs of basil
  • 1 tsp mixed peppercorns

Instructions

    Wash, trim, and pat the strawberries dry. Fill bottles with strawberries, top up with vinegar, and seal tightly. Let the bottles sit for about 10 days until the vinegar turns pink. Filter the strawberry vinegar through a fine sieve, discard the captured fruit.

    Wash, trim, and pat the garnish strawberries dry. Halve the fruits, slice larger ones into rounds. Distribute basil and peppercorns in the bottles, add the strawberries on top, and fill with strawberry vinegar.
