Ingredients

  • 1 sour apple
  • 2 onions
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 400 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp peppercorns
  • 2 cloves of mace
  • 50 g yellow mustard flour
  • 50 g brown mustard flour
  • Salt

    Peel the apple, onions and garlic, remove the core from the apple and cut everything into large pieces. Combine with the vinegar, bay leaf, pepper and mace in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover and simmer gently for about 20 minutes.

    Add the yellow and brown mustard flour to a bowl and stir in the cooked liquid through a sieve. Continue stirring until the mustard is creamy. Season with salt and let cool. Fill hot-washed jars, seal and let rest for at least 2 days.
