Strawberry Puff Pastry Squares

Ingredients
- 450 g puff pastry (frozen)
- 1 egg
- 2 packets vanilla pudding powder (for 0.5 l milk)
- 0.5 l milk
- 50 g sugar
- 0.125 l whipping cream
- 500 g strawberries
- powdered sugar (for dusting)

Let the puff pastry thaw, roll it out and cut into 12-16 rectangles (about 8x6 cm). From half of them cut a small square leaving a 2 cm border to create a dough frame.

Preheat the oven to 220°C.

Whisk the egg and brush all rectangles with it. Place the dough frames on the remaining rectangles and also brush them with egg. Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake in the hot oven for about 12 minutes until golden brown.

For filling, cook the pudding according to package instructions with milk and sugar, then let cool. Whip the cream stiffly and fold into the cold pudding. Spoon the pudding cream into the puff pastry cups. Wash, clean, halve the strawberries and place on top. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
