Strawberry Orange Marmalade
This strawberry orange marmalade is guilt‑free. It contains less sugar than store‑bought varieties.
Ingredients
- 1000 g strawberries
- 600 g large oranges (3 large oranges)
- 500 g 3:1 gelatin sugar (from raw cane sugar)
- 50 ml orange liqueur (or grenadine)
Instructions
-
1.
Boil jars and lids in a large pot of hot water for about 10 minutes. Remove the jars from the water, turn them upside down on clean kitchen towels to cool.
-
2.
Wash, trim, and thoroughly mash the strawberries in a bowl.
-
3.
Peel the oranges so that all white pith is removed.
-
4.
Separate the fruit flesh from the membranes.
-
5.
Combine the strawberries and orange flesh with the gelatin sugar in a pot.
-
6.
Bring to a boil while stirring constantly, then simmer for 4 minutes with continuous stirring until bubbling.
-
7.
Add the orange liqueur or grenadine and cook for another 30 seconds.
-
8.
Pour the hot marmalade into the prepared jars and seal with lids. Leave the jars inverted for 5 minutes, then stand them upright. (When sealed and stored in a dark place, the marmalade keeps for about 6 months.)
