Ingredients

  • 1 kg green asparagus
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 0.5 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 50 ml Vegetable broth
  • Salt

Instructions

    Peel the lower third of the asparagus with an asparagus or vegetable peeler. Trim off the woody ends. Cut the stalks diagonally into 4-5 cm pieces. Peel the garlic clove and slice it thinly.

    Heat the oil in a hot pan and sauté the asparagus pieces for 1-2 minutes. Add the garlic and stir. Sprinkle with sugar and let lightly caramelize for another 1-2 minutes. Deglaze with lemon juice and broth, then simmer gently for 4-5 minutes.

    Season with salt and serve.
