Ingredients
- 1 coconut
- 1 kg pumpkin flesh (e.g., muskmelon)
- 2 small red onions
- 1 banana leaf
- 1 tbsp palm sugar
- 2 tbsp light fish sauce

Open the coconut and reserve the coconut water. Remove the flesh, peel it, and grate about 150 g. Dice the pumpkin flesh. Peel the onions and cut them into strips. Mix with the pumpkin pieces.

Line a bowl (suitable for the large bamboo steamer) with a piece of banana leaf. Place the pumpkin in the bowl and sprinkle with coconut shreds. Drizzle the mixture of coconut water, sugar, and fish sauce over the pumpkin. Put the bowl in the steamer basket and cover it over boiling water; steam for 20-25 minutes.
