Ingredients
- 3 red onions
- 4 ribeye steaks (about 160 g each)
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)
- 2 tbsp Rapeseed oil
- 4 slices cheddar cheese (about 30 g each)
- 8 slices French country bread
- 4 tbsp barbecue sauce

Preheat the oven to 140°C fan.

Peel and slice the onions into thin rings. Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat the rapeseed oil in a pan and sear the steaks briefly on both sides. Place them on a baking tray. Sauté the onions in the same pan by swirling, then spread over the steaks. Top with cheese and bake for 10-12 minutes until cooked through.

Spread barbecue sauce on four slices of bread, place the steaks on top, and cover with the remaining bread slices. Serve immediately. French fries pair well.
