Spinach Tempura

Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 150 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

    Wash, trim, and pat dry the spinach.

    Whisk the egg with the soy sauce and about 200 ml ice‑cold water. Quickly stir in the flour and baking powder to form a thick batter. Dip portions of spinach into the batter, let excess drip off, and fry in hot oil (≈170 °C) for 1–2 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve.
