Spicy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 kg fully ripe tomatoes
- 3 red chili peppers
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
- 1 bunch Basil
- Salt
- black pepper (ground)
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
Instructions

Blanch the tomatoes for a few seconds, peel, quarter, seed and dice them.

Halve the chili peppers lengthwise, remove seeds, discard all white membranes and finely dice them.

Peel and chop the onion, sauté it with the chilies in hot oil in a pot, press in the garlic, let it cook together, stir in tomato paste and tomatoes, simmer for a few minutes, add 1 cup of water, season with salt, cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes.

Whisk the cornstarch with 1 tbsp cold water until smooth, stir into the sauce, bring to a boil and allow it to thicken slightly.

Tear basil leaves from stems, chop finely, add them to the sauce.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
