- 4 mackerel fillets (≈200 g each)
- Sea salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 2 tbsp flour
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 1 Garlic clove
- 1 chili pepper
- 6 bay leaves

Rinse the fish fillets and pat them dry. Season with salt and pepper, then coat in flour. In a hot pan, fry the skin side 3‑4 minutes until golden brown. Flip, remove from heat, and let rest to finish cooking. Arrange the fillets on a plate or shallow dish. Warm the remaining olive oil with lemon juice, minced garlic, sliced chili rings, and bay leaves, then pour over the fillets.
