Spicy Grilling Sauce

Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 red chilies
  • 1 tbsp plant oil
  • 200 ml crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 50 ml Vegetable broth
  • Salt
  • black pepper (ground)
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • 0.5 tsp mustard powder
  • Worcestershire sauce (optional)
  • Tabasco (optional)

Instructions

    Peel and finely chop the garlic. Wash, halve, and finely chop the chilies. In a pot heat the oil and sauté the garlic with the chilies. Add the crushed tomatoes and ketchup, pouring in some broth.

    Season with salt, pepper, paprika powder, and mustard powder. Simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes until thickened. Adjust seasoning with Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco, then let cool in small bowls. Pairs well with grilled meat and spare ribs.
