Barbecue Marinade

This low-fat, low-calorie barbecue sauce pairs well with meat, fish, and poultry. Unlike other marinades, it is extremely lean.

Ingredients

  • 50 g onions (1 onion)
  • 0.5 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • 150 g tomato purée
  • 1 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

    Peel the onion and dice it very finely. Heat oil in a small saucepan over low heat and sauté the onions until translucent.

    Add the tomato purée, tomato paste, vinegar, and honey; bring to a boil once.

    Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then let cool.
