Spicy Chili Sauce in Portuguese Style

Ingredients

  • 125 g red chili peppers (variety depending on desired heat level)
  • 150 ml olive oil
  • 2 cm fresh ginger
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 tsp Paprika powder (sweet)
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

    Wash the chili peppers, pat dry, halve them, remove seeds and white membranes. Blend with 4-5 tbsp oil in a blender until finely chopped.

    Peel and finely mince the ginger and garlic. Zest the lemon and squeeze out the juice. Combine zest, juice, ginger, garlic, paprika, and salt with the blended chilies and transfer to a prepared (sterilized boiled) jar. Pour the remaining oil over the mixture so that all ingredients are completely covered.
