Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 150 g dark chocolate
  • 600 ml Milk
  • 200 ml heavy cream
  • 1 star anise
  • 0.5 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (to taste)
  • Fleur de sel
  • freshly grated nutmeg

Instructions

    Chop the chocolate into small pieces. In a pot, bring the milk and cream to a boil with the star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, chili, and sugar. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate until melted. Let it steep for a few minutes.

    Pour through a sieve into four cups and serve refined with a pinch of sea salt and nutmeg on each.
