Spaghetti with Tomato Ragout

Ingredients

  • 500 g Spaghettini
  • 500 g tomatoes
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 bunch Basil
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • A pinch Crushed red pepper (Peperoncino)

Instructions

    Wash tomatoes, halve them, remove seeds and cut into small pieces. Peel onion and garlic and dice them. Slice basil leaves into strips.

    Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add tomatoes and cook for about 5 minutes while stirring. Season with salt, pepper, crushed red pepper and basil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, drain and serve immediately with the sauce.
