Small Spelt Rolls

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 75 g softened butter
  • 375 g spelt flour type 1050
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp rolled oats
  • 20 g grated cheese

Instructions

    Beat the eggs in a bowl and whisk. Stir in the butter and salt until frothy. Mix the flour with the baking powder and sift over the wet mixture. Add the milk and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and chill for 20 minutes.

    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape the dough into 12 equal round buns and place them on the sheet. Brush with water and sprinkle with sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, rolled oats or grated cheese as desired. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (180 °C fan‑forced; gas mark 3) for 15–20 minutes. Cool the rolls on a wire rack and serve as fresh as possible.
