Simple Sheet Cake Chocolate

This easy sheet cake is quick and uncomplicated. With ground almonds and dark glaze it becomes a juicy treat!

Ingredients

  • 250 g softened butter
  • 100 g whole cane sugar
  • 6 Eggs
  • 350 g dark chocolate
  • 80 g spelt whole wheat flour
  • 250 g ground almonds

Instructions

    Cream the butter with sugar, then gradually fold in the eggs.

    Chop 250 g of chocolate and mix it with the flour and ground almonds, then stir into the egg mixture.

    Spread the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, smooth it out, and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (160 °C fan or gas level 2–3) for about 40 minutes. Remove, cut hot strips (1.5 x 5 cm), let cool, then lift from the sheet and place on a cooling rack.

    Melt the remaining chocolate slowly over a water bath and brush it over the chocolate strips.
