Simple Chocolate Cake with Little Flour

For the simple chocolate cake only a small amount of flour is needed. Instead, ground almonds refine the recipe and provide a nutty result!

Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 125 g dark chocolate
  • 50 g ground almond kernels
  • 30 g flour
  • butter (for the pan)
  • powdered sugar (to dust)

Instructions

    Beat butter with sugar until fluffy, separate eggs and gradually fold in yolks. Melt chocolate over a hot water bath, then stir into the butter mixture; combine almonds with salt, baking powder, and flour, and fold in as well.

    Whisk egg whites to stiff peaks and fold them in too.

    Pour batter into greased rectangular pan, smooth top, and bake in preheated oven at 180°C fan for about 20-25 minutes. Remove and cool on a rack.

    Dust with powdered sugar and cut into cubes if desired.
