Sichuan Tofu

Ingredients

  • 500 g Tofu
  • 1 EL peanut oil
  • 2 EL soy sauce
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 0.5 TL chili powder
  • 200 ml poultry stock (from the jar)
  • 2 EL finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 2 TL starch
  • 1 TL ground Sichuan pepper

Instructions

    Cut the tofu into approximately 4 cm cubes.

    Heat the oil in a wok, add soy sauce and salt, stir-fry for 1 minute, then add chili powder and cook another 30 seconds.

    Stir in the stock, add the tofu, and simmer for 3 minutes. Mix starch with 1 EL water and add to the garlic; cook for an additional minute.

    Serve by arranging the tofu with a bit of sauce on each plate and sprinkle Sichuan pepper over it.
