Ingredients

  • 400 g flour
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 300 g butter
  • sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

    Mix the flour with the sugar and salt in a mixing bowl. Beat the butter with a dough whisk, knead everything into a smooth dough and chill for about 1 hour.

    Fold an edge of aluminum foil so the dough doesn’t spill out. Prick the dough several times with a fork and bake for 20–30 minutes until golden yellow. Cut the hot shortbread into narrow strips, about 6 cm long. Optionally roll the cookies in sugar and let them cool on a wire rack. Serve with coffee.
