Sesame Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 500 g sausage filling
  • 1 onion
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp Sweet paprika powder
  • Salt
  • pepper (ground)
  • 300 g puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g sesame seeds

Instructions

    Place the sausage filling in a bowl. Peel and finely chop the onion; peel and grate the carrot finely. Add both to the filling along with the parsley, season with paprika, salt, and pepper, and mix well.

    Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) with fan and top heating.

    Roll out the pastry sheet (about 40x24 cm) and cut into two rectangles (each about 12x40 cm). Spread the filling lengthwise on the center of each strip (use a piping bag if desired), leaving a 1-2 cm border free. Fold one side over the filling, brush the edge of the other side with beaten egg, and roll into a log. Twist the log gently to press the seam. Slice each roll into 3-4 cm pieces and place on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Brush with remaining beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
