Sesame Beef from the Wok

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 600 g beef (hip or loin)
- 2 cm ginger
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 2 Spring Onions
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- Cayenne pepper
- 1 cucumber
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- Salt
- pepper (ground)
Instructions

Toast the sesame in a wok until fragrant. Let cool. Rinse the beef, pat dry and slice into strips. Peel and finely chop the ginger and garlic. Wash, trim and finely chop the spring onions. Mix the toasted sesame with garlic, spring onions, ginger, soy sauce, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Season with cayenne pepper and fold in the beef strips. Cover and refrigerate for about 1 hour to marinate.

Peel the cucumber, cut it lengthwise into halves, remove seeds, and slice one half into thin ribbons.

Heat a wok over high heat, add sesame oil, and stir‑fry the beef for 2–3 minutes. Add the cucumber ribbons and cook together for another 4–5 minutes until done. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
